Township Clerk Duties and Responsibilities

Michigan State Law designates the duties of a Township Clerk, although Township Boards may require additional responsibilities or delegate certain duties.

Some of the duties and responsibilities of the Comstock Township Clerk include:

  • Election management and voter registration
  • Cemetery management and record keeping
  • Maintaining and organizing Township records
  • Payroll administration
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Cable television administration duties
  • Township insurance coordinator
  • Writing the minutes for all Township Board meetings


The Electoin Commission will hold a Special Meeting on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the Township Hall, following the regular Township Board Meeting, to discuss the November 5, 2019 Election.
